The workouts are good, the cardio up,, food is right on, So why am I not loosing weight? In fact,, the weight on the scale has gone up!! I take a look back at what I have been eating,, and wait,,, I figured it out.. The protien I am using is not supporting the workout I am doing.. A protien with 600 calories, 76 grams of carbs, and 46 grams of protien does not support fat loss. This is not good.
How do you pick a protien?  Well in all honesty, I tell people to try many different ones out, and find one they can acually stomach. There are so many different kinds on the market, where do you start?  I personally have tried many. I have also found many good tasting protiens that support my workouts. But for some reason I let my taste take control, and that can be a bad thing.
Of course, who doesnt want to loose weight? I think the majority of us do.  But there are few out there wanting to pack on muscle, and buff up :).  Adding muscle to your body is no easy task. First comes the heavy, tough workouts, then comes the eating!! I mean you have to take in alot of protien and carbs, to support growing muscle. This is where supplementing comes in. It would be very difficult to get enough protien through food alone. Protien powder is a good way to supplement the quantity of protien needed to support muscle growth
When trying to loose weight, or fat,  a protein with lower calories, fat, and carbohydrates would be best.  Loosing weight is really a simple equation. I didnt say it was easy to do, I said scientifically its easy. Calories in vs calories out.  Keeping tract of calories can get quite difficult. Do you actually know how many calories were in that cheeseburger you had for lunch today?  It can actually be looked up, but by knowing what goes in your body before you actually eat it can be a great tool in loosing weight.
So in conclusion, Protien powder can be a great tool in aiding fat loss, or muscle growth. Just make sure you pick the right one for your individual goals.  If you could use any help picking out the right protien for you, feel free to contact me!   Brittafoster@aol.com

Don't Quit
Author unknown

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have w on had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

There is much debate about fat burners. Commercials show people loosing major amounts of fat, they are lean and muscular. Automatically we think, hmm I need some of what they are using.  I dont know about you, but i would love to just take a pill and loose fat.  But unfortunately, thats not how it works.
First you should understand how fat burners work.  There are many different types of fat burners. Some are formulated to help raise our metabolism, which in turn helps us burn more calories. Some are made to help block the amount of fat or carbohydrates we may intake. Some fat burners are made to supress your appetite, which of course,, if we eat less we should loose weight.
Fat burners can be an effective way to kickstart fat loss. But before you run to the store and grab some off the shelf, do some research. Hydroxycutt has had much hype lately, and was recalled from the shelves. As anything, if used the wrong way you can have a bad reaction.  With any supplement you should read the labels, and know the positive and negative sides to taking a stimulant.
The best thing to do to loose fat is to be aware of everything you take into your body. Cardio is also  a definate must in combating fat loss.  The right  combination of cardio and healthy eating will shed the fat right off your body. If You still think you need the extra kick, try a fat burner.  They can be effective if used correctly, but do not rely on them to do all the work.  If you need any additonal ideas to kickstart your fatloss, contact me. I would love to help you shed the fat! Summer will be here before we know it. It was 75 degrees today! yea!!

Supplements? What are they? Who needs them?
Supplement : Something added to complete a thing, make up for a deficiency, or extend  or strengthen the whole.  So what does this have to do with being in shape? Or loosing weight? Or gaining muscle?
When it comes to weight loss, or gaining muscles, there are countless supplements, or products promising to get you to your goals. DO these really work? or are they just a way for companies to make money.  In my opinion, supplements are very important for supporting the work you do in the gym.
So who needs supplements? And what kind should one take?  That really depends on your goals.  There are supplements for fat loss, and gaining muscle. You do not need to take an arsenal of products to be lean and in shape. Although you do need to supplement your nutrition to support your work done in the gym.
\  So now we are down to what You should be supplementing. This comes back to your goals. THe majority of people working out do so to lose fat, and eaither add muscle mass, or lean out.  So what supports this?  Carbohydrates are the major source of enrgy, and protien is the major source of supporting and repairing muscle. So these two nutrients are a definate need in our diets. How much?  This is widely discussed, and widely differnt in everyones opinion.
Protien should be taken at every meal.  You should take in 1 to 1.5 grams of protien per lean body weight a day. Somtimes a little more if hitting the weights really hard. Carbohydrates are a touchy subject by all. Depending on your goals, this amount could be highly differnent for each of us.  When I am training to lose fat, I tend to drop my amount of carb intake, and only take them pre and post workout, to support what i am about to do, and just done.  Now how do we get the right amount of carb and protien in each meal?  This is where supplementaion comes in.
Protien shakes, and meal replacement bars are a wonderful key to use, when trying to get the right amount of protien in each meal.. Whey protein is a good choice, It is easily digested, and easy to carry with to the gym.  You should always have protien ready for after each workout. So By now you should know that supplements are very important to all of us ..

If you have any specific questions on supplements, email me at Brittafoster@aol.com I would love to share my knowledge with you  :)

So today is the first day of 2010. Has everyone made a resolution yet? I have made mine, and fitness does play a big role.  This is a time to reasses our goals, whether it be physical, or with work, or maybe family. A new year can bring many changes, but you are in charge of your life.
I would love to hear everyones goals, and let everyone know I am here to support you. Sometimes support is the key to accomplishing your goals.  This year can be great! You are in charge of which way things go, whether it be in the gym, or at work , or maybe just spending more time with family.
Everyone probably knows by know that fitness is very important to me.  It was funny, the other day I was eating a cheesburger, and someone said to me,, You are eating that? I thought you were a fitness freak?  And I thought, yeah I really should not be eating this. We all have times of weakness, which makes it important to let our goals be known to others.  This way when we go a little of the path, somone can say,, HEY!  what are you doing?

I would like to hear from you, wheter it be an email, or response to this blog, let me know what you might be going for this year. Make your support symstem strong, so there can be room for little to no error.  Good luck with your goals and remember i am here for you ..Make 2010 one you will never forget!
