Make sure you make time for yourself! It can be tough getting kids to their games, and many practices, and with the many festivals going on, sometimes scheduling gets hard. So between the 2 volleyball games, and one soccer game I attended today,, I managed to get a quick 30 min workout in. This past week has been quite busy,, fall festivals, volleyball and soccer practice,, no school, just lots of changes.. This is not to be used as an excuse to skip your workouts.. It doesnt take very long to get off a schedule, then oops,, I missed a workout,, then oops i missed another one.

Really! Five fall festivals? I remeber as a kid going to the festival at school.. It was fun! Dressing up, searching for hidden stuff in the hay, getting lots of candy! Mmmmm CANDY! SO what in the world will i do with the huge amount of candy my kids are about to haul home? I surely cant let them eat it all! And if you know me,, I cannot refuse chocolate! especially chocolate w peanut butter! YUM!
I have worked extra hard to get to where i am now, and cannot let chocolate overcome! Do not give in to the calling of sugar! Sure have a piece of your favorite candy, but limit it.. If you can't seem to stop eating the reeces cups,, get them out of sight! Give them to your neighbor, or trash them if you have to.. The longer it sits there the more chance you have to eat it.. Just think of all the time on the treadmill you will have to do to burn it off! I am deffinately not wanting to add more cardio to my weekly routine,, Moderation is key! So have fun this haloween, but be good! Dont sabatoge all of your hard work you have put in already.. I was sitting at the gym on Friday, listening to a "trainer" talk to two overweight women about food. I just started shaking my head. Here were two overweight women who obviously have a strong love for food, and she tells them to watch portion size, and its ok to have a 100 calorie kettle popcorn at night. Now that might help them lose a little weight, but isn't the point to change your body? Not to make a smaller version of yourself? The term skinny fat came to mind here. Shouldn't we focus on whole healthy foods? Lean protien, whole grains, and healthy fats? So where does the kettle corn and the sugar free ice cream sadwiches come in?
It's just really hard for me to see people grasping for information to help them get fit, and they get told things that they really shouldn't be following. I think every gym should have a nutritionist on board, being able to teach the basics of nutrition, and what one should eat to be healthy, that also supports fat loss. Now, don't get me wrong,, I am glad to see these women intrested in losing weight,,, but im hoping they can shift their focus on getting healthy, and let the weight loss follow. Just a thought :).. Yesterday started week 7 of a 12 week workout program im on. This week my cardio went up majorly! As many of you know,, im not big on cardio.. Not because I dont belive in it, or know the outcome is great,, because I just get bored with it, and would rather pump some iron! This week my cardio goal is 60 mins for 5 days this week.. Day one,, check,, day 2,, im 20 mins away from my goal. I know I can get it done, its a matter of being focused, and knowing what the outcome of doing my cardio will be..
I actually cooked dinner last night! This is something I am working on, bc I totally belive in eating lots of whole, fresh food. I tried the tuna casserole, which is on my recipe page. It turned out good! My kids even ate it,, well not Madison, she is my picky eater. So give it a try,, its YUMMY !!
Why does it seem so hard to find healthy things to cook? Which are also affordable and easy,, bc who has time to cook a meal now days? I have been trying to make time to cook more often, and to sit down with the family at dinner time.. I think its really important to have time to reflect on the day. So what do I make for dinner, that my kids will actually eat, that is healthy? All I can say is thank goodness for the internet! There are so many tools out there that can help us make things easier.. Too bad the internet wont just cook the food too! lol now that would be too easy! I have come across a great site, which has normall food, just made a little healthier. I will be trying some of these recipes, and letting you know how they turn out.. One of the first ones im going to try is tuna casserole. Because who doesnt like a good caserole?
Im about halfway through a 12 week workout program. I doesnt seem like its been that long,, but whos counting? LOL! My body is deffinately changing, My cardio sessions have been great,, well great for me.. Next week the cardio gets even longer! And that means more fat burn!
Whats on your ipod? I have got to have some loud upbeat tunes to listen to while working out! It just doesnt seem the same without them.. Here is some of what ive been listening to lately. Write me back,,, What are you listening to???
The Good Life,,,,,, Three Days Grace DJ Got us Falling In Love,,,, Usher Like A G6,,,, Far East Movement OMG,,,,, Usher I Like It,,,,, Enrique Iglesias Rock That Body,,,, Black Eyed PEas Push It ,,,, Rick Ross Till I Collapse,, Eminem These are Just a few,, gott keep it fresh! I have stuck to my guns about weighing my self this week.. I have only weighed in once at the gym, and of course I didnt like the number . Although the number on the scale is not what I wanted to see, a pair of carpis that I wore before I had Marshall actually fit today! I am slowly toning my body and dropping the fat! This only proves that the scale is not an important piece of equipment!
This is going to be a rough week for me. My cardio plan is back to long sessions of moderate intensity. Im gonna have to get some good music, and just kick it out! |
