Well its finally that time of year. The time of year we are running around. Straying from our everyday schedule. The time of year that food is all around. And not just any food. Food made only at special occasions, that we cannot resist.. The turkey, mash potatoes, rolls,  pie. You name it, it will probably be there.  This should be a time to enjoy yourself. But should we enjoy all the food, or pass it by.

You have hopefully worked all year to better your health and physique. And now the tempations are endless. And for what, one day of being with friends and family. Does temptation outweigh your hard work?  There really is a simple solution.  Skip Thanksgivig..  NO just kidding :).  But there really is a soultion. Im sure you have heard this word before. MODERATION! Yep. thats the word.  What is moderation? I take it as just a little is good, and too much can be really bad.
So when you sit down with your family and friends this Thanksgiving, be sure to enjoy yourself, and eat what is yummy. But just remember all the hard work you have put into yourself, and dont go overboard. You will regret it come monday, or whenever you set foot back into the gym.
  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Have you ever taken time off your workouts? due to vacation, illness, or other reasons?  Im sure everyone has at one point or another.. We all need a break every once and a while.. But Its how long you take off that really matters.  Once you get out of a routine of working out, and eating healthy, it is so easy to stay out of that routine. So now what..
I have found you need to find something to get the fire burning, or the wheels moving. This can be a date coming up, a competition, summer, whatever it may be stick to your guns. Sometimes that break you had can give your body the change it needs to take it to the next level.
Setting a routine, and sticking to that routine is a good thing to do.  This way when you are back off your break, you know what to do, and how to get it done.. No messing around.
Another thing that might get you back into a routine, or on top of your routine, would be to hire a personal trainer, someone who can push you that extra little bit. Sometimew we all need a push.

Metabolism is the process of by which protien, carbohydrates, and fats are broken down for the body to use as energy to mantain itself.  The rate of your metabolism depends on the number of calories you consume and the number of calories you burn while eating and exercising.
While it is true that your metabolism does slow down with age, there are some things you can do to increase you metabolism.  Putting on just 5 or 10 lbs of lean muscle mass will rev up your metablolism, and cause you to burn fat while resting.
Eat oftern, (every 2 or 3 hours) But healthy.  Get plenty of healthy protien, and fruits and vegetables.  Increasing your intake of high fiber foods is one ot the best ways to increase your metabolism, as it takes more energy to "try"  to digest the high-fiber foods.  Plus fruits and veggies are low in calorie and high in nutrition.
Get plenty of rest.  Lack of sleep can decrease the number of calories you body burns just resting.
Last but not least, omega 3's gives a powerful boost to your metabolism.Fish oil increases levels of fat burning enzymes and decreases levels of fat storing enzymes in your body. Make sure to buy pharmaceutical grade having 540mg EPA and 300 mg DHA.
